Original galvanized sheet metal bearing cap AL-KO for wheel units 2361. The cap is tapped into the centre hole of the brake drum.
You can distinguish the brake drums of wheel units AL-KO 2361 from others mainly because they are equipped with one compact double-row ball bearing and the inner diameter of the drum is 230 mm. For example, 1600 kg axles AL-KO B 1600-1 or 1800 kg axles AL-KO B1800-9 are equipped with 2361 wheel units. The type of wheel unit is stamped on the brake shield near the perimeter.
Do not fill the cap with petroleum jelly before fitting, it is unnecessary. The bearings are encapsulated with a permanent grease fill directly from the factory and sealed so that no grease can get in.
The cap protects especially the thread of the centre pin. We recommend replacing the cap if it is damaged in any way, if it does not fit properly in the drum or if it is damaged by advanced corrosion. Driving without the centre cap may result in irreversible damage to the fine thread of the wheel unit pin.
