The load index of 98 corresponds to a maximum load capacity of 750 kg per tyre. Two tyres therefore have a combined nominal load capacity of up to 1,500 kg, while four tyres on a twin-axle trailer have a combined nominal load capacity of up to 3,000 kg.

However, the combined load capacity of the tyres does not determine the trailer’s permitted gross weight or payload.
