Modernized version of the overrun brake AL-KO 251G PLUS. The brake is supplied including a safety cable and a towing coupling AL-KO AK 301.

• Compared to the standard version, this brake does not differentiate between top and bottom mounting. The brake can be mounted in both ways, i.e. with the axle underneath (so-called "top mounting") and with the brake underneath (so-called "bottom mounting"). The bottom mounting can be used for lugs with a profile up to 100 mm high.
• The new brake is equipped with a handbrake lever with a gas-spring force reservoir. Compared to the original solution with a gas strut and a locking horn, the new type is easier to operate due to the lower force required for manipulation. The absence of a thumb lock allows for a finer dosage of frictional force, which you will appreciate, for example, when hitching a trailer on a slope.
• The handbrake lever is lower overall, allowing the fifth door of most cars to be opened without the attached trailer lever getting in the way.
• The brake is equipped with a fixed support. There is also a hole in the support for the safety cable. This means that the trailer can be rested on the ground without the risk of pinching and damaging the safety cable.
• On the left side of the brake body there are pre-drilled holes for mounting the support wheel bracket (2x holes for M10 bolt with 105 mm pitch).
• Improved bushings with higher preload reduce the clearance between the draw tube and the bushing.
• Another new feature is a special insert for fixing the cuff on the underside of the ramp tube. Thanks to it, the cuff is always correctly attached and does not slip.

Adjustment of the double arm lever for different types of wheel units:

The brake is supplied as standard set up for 2051 wheel units. However, the brake is also compatible with wheel brake units AL-KO 1636G, 1637, 2361, 3061 and 3081. Three holes are drilled in the upper part of the double lever with the gear ratio marking. By moving the pin of the lower part of the lever into the appropriate hole, the brake can be adjusted for each wheel unit, see figure and table below.
