The winch is equipped with an automatic brake. During winding, the spool is secured against reverse rotation by an automatic latch. When the load needs to be lowered, simply turn the handle in the opposite direction of the winding and the latch is automatically released without the need for manual release. When the direction of winding is changed again, the latch automatically engages again and blocks the spool against unwanted unwinding. However, after simple removal of the handle, the rope can be unwound without using the handle with a smooth pull. After releasing the brake by moving the crank against the direction of winding and then removing the crank, the rope can be slowly and smoothly pulled out of the winch in the required length without the need to unwind using the crank.
