It is positioned beneath the trailer's lowered rear loading ramp to reduce the loading angle, helping to minimise the risk of the vehicle's underbody or bumper coming into contact with the ramp.

It is made from aluminium chequer plate, whose raised pattern helps improve tyre grip during loading. The aluminium construction combines strength with low weight and natural corrosion resistance.
