KENDA KR101 MasterTrail 3G – tyre developed for trailers

KENDA KR101 MasterTrail 3G 195/55 R10C 98/96N is a reinforced radial tyre intended primarily for trailers, caravans and other applications involving heavy loads. KENDA developed the MasterTrail 3G range specifically for trailer use, where high load capacity, stability and a durable tyre construction are important.

High load capacity – up to 750 kg per tyre

The load index of 98/96 corresponds to a maximum load capacity of 750 kg in single fitment and 710 kg per tyre in dual fitment.

When four tyres are fitted to a twin-axle trailer, their combined nominal load capacity in single fitment is up to 3,000 kg. However, this figure does not determine the trailer’s permitted gross weight or payload. The actual permitted load is always limited by the weakest component of the entire assembly, particularly the load ratings of the rims, axles and chassis, as well as the approved weights of the specific trailer.

Compact R10 size for a low loading platform

The 195/55 R10C size combines high load capacity with a very small overall tyre diameter of approximately 468 mm. This is why it is commonly used on car transporters, low-loader trailers and other specialist trailers.

The small overall wheel diameter allows for a trailer design with a low loading platform and a favourable loading ramp angle, which is particularly important when loading cars with low ground clearance.

MasterTrail 3G

The KENDA MasterTrail 3G range was designed for trailer use. Its reinforced radial construction is adapted to heavy loads, while the tread pattern with closely spaced sipes helps provide good grip in wet and changing conditions.

The manufacturer also uses an improved inner liner in the MasterTrail 3G range to help maintain the correct air pressure.

M+S marking

The tyre carries an M+S – Mud + Snow marking. This indicates a construction and tread pattern intended to provide better performance in mud and snow than a standard road tyre.

However, the M+S marking is not the same as the 3PMSF marking (the three-peaked mountain and snowflake symbol) and does not, on its own, provide the same certification of winter performance.

Correct tyre pressure
