AL-KO 2051Ab PLUS/COMPACT Brake Drum 200 × 50 mm – Old Version

The genuine AL-KO brake drum 1932110 (previous part number 586450) is designed for AL-KO 2051Ab PLUS/COMPACT wheel brakes. This is the original design with pronounced cooling fins for heat dissipation, used particularly on AL-KO Compact and Plus axles with loads up to 1500 kg per axle / 750 kg per wheel.

The brake drum is designed for a 200 × 50 mm brake – the internal diameter of the brake drum is 200 mm and the brake shoes are 50 mm wide. The wheel PCD is 5×112 with M12×1.5 wheel bolt threads.

Old and new versions of AL-KO 1932110

This brake drum is the older design of the genuine AL-KO 1932110 / 586450 part, featuring a larger number of pronounced cooling fins. Since 2023, this brake drum has also been supplied in a newer design with fewer cooling fins.

The old and new versions are interchangeable. The different appearance and number of cooling fins therefore do not indicate a different wheel brake type or a different application.

Brake drum including compact bearing

The brake drum is supplied with a pre-installed double-row compact bearing 39 × 72 × 37 mm. The internal diameter of the bearing for the axle stub is 39 mm.

The separate genuine AL-KO compact bearing kit has part number 1224803. This type of drum also uses a hub cap with a diameter of 55 mm.

Older and newer casting designs

AL-KO modified the brake drum casting design during production. The older version has characteristic pronounced cooling fins around its circumference, while the current version uses fewer cooling fins.

For correct identification, we therefore recommend using the AL-KO part number, wheel brake type, dimensions and axle ETI number rather than relying solely on appearance or the number of cooling fins.

ETI – precise AL-KO identification

AL-KO uses the ETI system for precise identification of axles, wheel brakes and their replacement parts. The ETI number can be found on the axle identification plate and usually begins with 811....

The brake drum 1932110 / 586450 has been used on many different AL-KO axle versions. If there is any uncertainty, we therefore recommend checking compatibility using the complete ETI number.

Important – other AL-KO 2051 brake drums

The AL-KO 2051 designation alone is not sufficient to select the correct brake drum. Several different brake drum versions are available for 2051-series wheel brakes.

Another AL-KO 2051 brake drum may also have a 200 × 50 mm brake size, 5×112 wheel PCD and a bearing with a 39 mm internal diameter. The different versions should therefore be identified using the AL-KO part number, wheel brake version and axle ETI number.

AL-KO 2051 brake shoes

The wheel brake uses 200 × 50 mm brake shoes. When replacing the brake drum, we recommend checking the condition of the brake shoes, springs, adjustment mechanism, brake cables and the other wheel brake components.

AL-KO 2051 wheel brakes are available both with manual adjustment and as the 2051 AAA version with automatic adjustment. Brake shoes must therefore always be selected according to the specific wheel brake version.

Important installation information

After removing the brake drum, AL-KO recommends using a new wheel hub flange nut during reassembly. The braking system and wheel bearing assembly are safety-critical components of the trailer, so installation and correct brake operation should be checked by a qualified workshop.
